Dandy and Company The Game by derrickfish Dandy and Company The Game by derrickfish
After watching "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World", I became mildly obsessed with my old school video games and took some existing "Dandy & Co." background art and logos, and played around a little bit to make this faux game screen. Imagine it popped up RIGHT after the "SEEEEEGGGGGAAAAA" chime.

(And YES, I understand that this is, in fact, NOT actual pixel art. This is just me playing around and trying to make something that feels like the games I used to play. While I'm studying how to actually make really real pixel art for fun, this is just a fun little fake on my part.)

Would totally fire this up on my Genesis! Man the old days of games were awesome. Most games nowadays have style over substence, whereas back then, it was the other way around.

Actually, a splash screen like this really might use not-actual-pixel-art. It's been a while since I've played any 16-bit games, but I do remember that Jazz Jackrabbit had an antialiased cartoon picture for its splash screen just like this.

Wow, excellent work as per usual. Dandy really looks dynamic, and I like the icon next to the 1 player.
